UAFA to be reintroduced next week – action needed
Great News! Rep. Jerrold Nadler plans to reintroduce the Uniting American Families Act on Feb. 13!
You can make the bill a success by convincing your Representative to support the bill from Day One. Reintroducing the bill with as many cosponsors as possible will show powerful momentum for the rights of gay and lesbian binational couples!
Outright has supported Uniting American Families Act or UAFA (formerly the Permanent Partners Immigration Act or PPIA) ever since it was first proposed.
It is not a valid function of government to decide which relationships are valid for immigration sponsorship purposes, and the Libertarian Party Platform reflects this:
1.3 Personal Relationships
Sexual orientation, preference, gender, or gender identity should have no impact on the rights of individuals by government, such as in current marriage, child custody, adoption, immigration or military service laws.
